Warm up007

Why do you want to be different?

Being different is what sets me apart from everybody else. It is something people recognise me for, it makes me who I am. Being different makes us feel important because there are over 7 billion people in this world and people want to be noticed, the way to be noticed is being different from everybody else. It makes  me feel good which leads me to be happy with myself.

Warm up006

I believe it is possible to be too different from others around us. Everyone is different in their own ways, but some people stand out more than others. society has put up this image of what normal is, so the people who act differently to that idea are normally seen different. It is possible for one to act too different, but not totally different from others. If majority of people believed that one was extremely different from the normal then they would be labeled as being too different.

Warm up 005

I believe we should learn more grammar at school because it has faded over the years. Grammar is important to the English language because it makes people sound more proper, and it just sounds, looks right on paper and speaking the English language. Makes students more confident in writing and speaking.

Warm up 004

Differences between an editorial and news report is that an editorial is highly opinionated and usually one-sided to make a point. They are usually written to persuade people of their views.
A news report has no opinion or conclusions are included. They give both sides of the story and give you a overview to allow you to make your own mind up.

Chapter 19

In chapter 19, we see how Dill reacts to Tom Robinson’s treatment during the trial. Dill is still a young boy so he is pure. During the trial Dill realises the injustices of racism and understand the harsh truth about racism, but strongly feels sick and disgusted the way whites treat the whites such as like calling Tom “boy”.  We see how differently scout handles this situation. Scout still does not understand how unfair this is and thinks it’s just how the world works. While we see Jem and now Dill understanding how unfair the whites are.

Warm up 001

In chapter 19, during the trial, Dill is disgusted and shocked from the way Mr Gilmer is treating Tom Robinson. Dill is still a young boy so he is pure and doesn’t fully understand the injustices of racism and how harsh it can be. Dill listing and seeing Mr Gilmer’s treatment towards Tom Robinson calling tom “boy” makes him realise how unfair the white are to the blacks. The readers can see how differently scout handles this situation. she still doesn’t quite understand the racism. Scout is still naive while Jem and now Dill understands how unfair the whites are, while scout is still now understanding.

001- chapter 11

“It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway.” – Atticus

This shows courage.  eg.  Defending Tom Robinson.

Atticus knows by defending Tom (black man) even if  Tom was completely innocent, Atticus knew he wouldn’t win but he defended Tom anyway because he wanted to at least try and show the kind of courage he has.
